Menswear Monday!

August 5, 2013

Awwwww, the illustrious weekend. It’s always WAY too short, amiright? Good thing there’s MENSWEAR MONDAY to look forward to! Husband pulled this outfit together completely on his own last week (and the crowd goes wild! Wooot!). He wore it for ‘Bow Tie Tuesday’ – a weekly ritual at his work, recently started by Husband himself after he wore one of TimberBeast‘s bow ties to work one day and his boss took such a liking to it that he dubbed Tuesday as the official ‘Bow Tie’ day. Pretty sweet eh? Secret is out: the Willardson family loves them some bow ties.

You can see the other ways Chase has been styling bow ties HERE and HERE.

p.s. time is winding down to enter the $1,000 CASH Giveaway and the $250 CASH Giveaway from last week! Don’t miss your chance!

p.s.s. Featured over HERE today on one of my absolute favorite blogs, Clothed Much. Check it out!

Statement Necklaces at the Beach…

August 2, 2013

A couple weekends ago, the fabulous individuals who gave me life came to visit Chase and I here in SF. Apologies if having to read about their visit one more time is making you want to gouge out your eyeballs a little. Turns out I just have a mild-to-severe obsession with them. Momma wanted to visit the beach while she was here, so hours before they hit the road we traveled down to Pacifica for a brief but glorious jaunt along the shoreline. Despite wind speeds that felt like hurricanes and tsunamis were imminent, it was a delightful time! We once again froze our kahonas off (and let’s not talk about the sickeningly tangled rat’s nest that was my hair by the end), but it was worth it. Momma got to see the beach during her visit, and *I* got pics of this lovely statement necklace from Nest Boutique. Is everyone else still crushing on statement necklaces to the degree that I am? I love them long time. I think I always will. Here’s a whole slew of statement necklaces (among other jewels) that I am currently coveting! Feel free to follow along on Pinterest if you’d like.

And speaking of statement necklaces, should we talk about who the winner of the JewelMint Giveaway was? Should you find out if it was you? Yes, yes you should. Thanks to all who entered!

Speaking of GIVEAWAYS, did you enter this one for $1,000 and this one for $250 yet? Don’t miss your chance!

Old Navy Shorts & Tees!

July 30, 2013

Nothing says summer like shorts and tees, amiright? BUT, what do you do on the chillier days? Cuz let’s be serious – every day is a bit chilly when you’re living in San Francisco. Last weekend, my to-die-for-adorable parental units came to visit Chase and I, and so natch we had to take them to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Chase and I hadn’t done it yet either, so it was about stinking time we made the trek! I knew I wanted to wear something casual, comfy, and cute (duh), but also something I could easily add layers to in case it was freeeeeeeezing on the Golden Gate (which…it…WAS! Note to any future SF visitors: bundle up! The chill factor, especially as you get closer to the water is no joke!). Turns out my perfect-for-the-occasion outfit ended up being this long pair of Old Navy Bermuda shorts (cuz long=warmer) and this adorable tee (on sale!). I added warmth with a bright yellow cardigan and this military-inspired Old Navy jacket that I scored at a thrift store in SF last summer. Ay-Oh!

K truth be told, I still froze my kahonas off. But at least I looked cute while doing it! Mmmmmmright? Right guys? Right? Bueller? Bueller? K one more confession: Chase and my daddy walked across the Golden Gate and back – Momma and I only walked across, then hitched a bus ride back. Cuz ya know – we’re hard core like that. Overall, the parentals had a wonderful time and if I’m really being honest, I felt slit-my-wrist sad when they left. It’s always so hard to hang with family and then have to part ways again, isn’t it?

So I guess this leaves just one question…

And in case you were wondering if I was making up the fact that I have parents and am actually an orphan who was discovered in a dumpster by some lovely family willing to take me in (which would maybe explain a lot)…

Turns out they’re real! Here’s my adorable momma.

Isn’t  ^ she ^ the cutest?

And adorable husband. What a California dreamboat.

Momma and Pops. Two of the finest individuals I’ve ever known. I adore these people.

Ummm, hello? Wind blown much?

Told you guys. The wind was straight cray cray up there!

Dream boat husband in his Old Navy military-inspired jacket. We felt real cool being all matchy-matchy that day.

Aaaaaand sometimes ^ that ^ happens. Yep. We’re big idiots.

Hope you have a Twinkle Toes Tuesday

(and that this week passes quickly for all of us!)
